Art is an important part of our lives. Whether a piece is done on a canvas, a board, a wall, or a t-shirt, it's still art. At RedFive, we believe that since this is true, there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to appreciate gallery-quality art and shop at the same time. We also believe in helping local artists and upcoming performers get the exposure they need to make their own personal mark on society; that is why we lend our walls to the artists who have earned it, and it is why we showcase those artists here as well.

Some Girls is a product-art installation done exclusively for RedFive by none other than Michael Leon of Girl Skateboards and Commonwealth Stacks fame. Through deft use of humor and irony, Leon is as dead on with Some Girls at capturing that ever-elusive 'something' that makes his work rise a cut above the rest as he is with hsi body of work at Stacks.

With his use of skate-related objects—i.e. the sticker, the poster, the t-shirt, and of course, the skate deck—and his throwback to 70's and 80's colors and graphical style, Leon successfully prompts a scene full of aging boy-men and established businessmen who spend just as much time collecting toys as they do money to look back to their formative years and remember just how fun it was.
